Port107 notes
Grafana Cloud is the managed observability platform from Grafana Labs, bringing metrics, logs, traces and application-level monitoring into a hosted service. It is particularly relevant to teams already using open telemetry standards or Grafana-style dashboards that want managed ingestion, storage and operational tooling around that data.
The current commercial surface includes an always-free plan, Pro from $19 per month plus usage, and Enterprise with a substantial annual commitment. Pro pricing is broken into observability products and usage units, so the meaningful budget depends on telemetry volume, retention and which monitoring capabilities the team adopts.
A recent Grafana community discussion suggests that a modest multi-server logging workload may fit inside the free allowance. That is an anecdotal estimate, not a capacity benchmark. It does show why the free tier can be useful as an evaluation environment: teams can send representative telemetry, measure ingestion and retention, and determine which data volumes will drive paid usage.
Grafana Cloud is a strong candidate for teams that value open telemetry workflows and want a managed observability stack. A production evaluation should measure signal volume, cardinality, retention, alerting and troubleshooting workflows together so platform usefulness and recurring telemetry cost are visible from the same test.
